The start of 2021 finds us traveling in Argentina. Here we not only get to enjoy the South American summer but we also get to drink lots of Malbec, Cab Francs and meet incredibly talented and passionate wine makers. The wine scene here is so dynamic, and the “100-year old bodega” sits next to virtual wineries, garage producers and artisanal wines. The wine fever extends beyond the traditional Mendoza borders – we have tasted wines from San Juan, Cordoba and even the coastal region of Buenos Aires. Everything, including the warm hospitality of the Mendozinos and their award-winning asados – has gone way above our expectations.

After tasting close to 150 wines, we are very excited to return back to Europe and get you to try some of the dust, rock and sun that is so abundant around the Andes. Stay tuned for Wine Club announcements!

In the meantime, we keep our weekly connection to Oenotrian’s community of global students. We are currently running L2 and L3 courses over Zoom, and examinations will resume next February.

December was such an eventful month, what a great way to be closing our first year at Oenotrian Wine School!

Firstly, Agostina was invited to participate in WSET’s first online Educator Training Program. It was a very intense experience, going on 5 days of 12-hour study sessions. A few tears may have come out – but in the end, she was awarded her L1 and L2 WSET Educator Certification.

Last month we also incorporated WSET’s Online Classroom and hosted our first Computer-Based Exams with Remote Invigilation for English-language programs. The experience has been very positive and we look forward to continue offering such programs next month.

Stay tuned for new course announcements – Level 2 in Turkish and English Language programs will be announced shortly.

Sharpen up your knowledge and get certified from the comfort of your own home.
